So here we are : ready ! At last.
Tomorrow is THE day. We'll head into the Tombstone and off to the East. If everything turns out fine, we'll make it to the other side in two months' time, in Keno City. And from there it'll be another story still.
So relieved we (I) could cry. After 38 days of preps, we thought we'd never make it.
Our sleds look great, the hauling system is fine-tuned (with the help of our coach Peter Heebink). They're just a tiny bit heavy : about 100 kg each in total. Yep, the first days will be hard, really hard. But going slowly, listening to our bodies and buddy, we'll make it to the trapline of my friend Mary Fraughton. That'll be our first step. And then we'll see ;-)
I haven't found enough time to write everything I wanted here, but you'll be able to follow us throughout the trip. My father will be our bush contact and will post some news every now and then (don't hesitate to suscribe to our newsletter so he can keep you up-to-date). Thanks Dad, you're the best ! And then you can also see our day-to-day progress on a map here. You'll get this link if you click on "real-time tracking" too.
More news and pictures in 3 months ! Thanks for following us :-)
Special thanks to our sourdough friends : thanks to Sara and her mother, Anne & Jeff, Christian & Barbara, Susan & Jamie, Charles & Jennifer, Peter Heebink, Christina, Kate, Rose & Gary, Sonny, Joanne & Mikin, Mary.
